Mike is an ACA Instructor Trainer Educator, and brings a lifetime of experience gained from working across the country and internationally, training river guides to special operations team members in technical rope rescue, motorized boat operations, flood rescue, and swiftwater rescue. Along the way he has accumulated a wealth of funny stories about his mishaps and misadventures, and uses these hilarious stories to drive home his instruction. The course location will be determined based on water levels within 1.5 hours of the Mount Washington Valley. Accommodations for students are typically local to the Conway/North Conway area. SRG staff are able to suggest locations to stay on request. Participants are expected to know knots, anchors, swiftwater rescue techniques, and have confidence in the their skills and ability to move within the river and swiftwater environment. On river course days can be physically demanding and involve lots of swimming, moving in and around water, movement across areas with difficult footing, and typically take place when the water is cold and cooler ambient air temperatures. SRG believes in Challenge By Choice and students always have the option to pass on an evolution. We love to demo, swim with, and support students skills acquisition in a safe supportive environment. Show up well rested, bring snacks and a robust lunch, a thermos for hot drinks, fluids, and arrive ready to have fun and work hard. Please contact us with any questions. We want you to have an awesome experience and leave with a bunch of new tools for your river tool box. REGISTRATION REQUIRES A PASSCODE
